AToN is In-Network with Anthem Blue Cross
Most people seeking addiction treatment do not have the luxury of paying cash or utilizing out-of-network health insurance. For this reason, AToN Center is proud to announce that we are now in-network with Anthem Blue Cross. This allows us to serve those who have Anthem coverage so we can provide effective and life-saving addiction treatment to our clients.
Anthem is one of the largest medical insurance providers in the United States, servicing more than 73 million Americans through its affiliate companies. That means that one in eight Americans receive medical care coverage through one of Anthem’s plans.
We recognize that many of the clients who come to us for help carry this insurance plan. Becoming in-network with Anthem Blue Cross allows the AToN Center to proudly treat individuals who are covered by Anthem Blue Cross. Having a HMO, EPO, or PPO coverage from Anthem Blue Cross allows members to receive assistance within their insurance parameters to access treatment for alcoholism and/or addiction. AToN Center partnering with Anthem as a provider of service helps reduce (and potentially eliminate) out-of-pocket expenses for those seeking help for themselves or a loved one.

How to Know if You Have Anthem Blue Cross
Anthem is the parent company of Anthem Blue Cross. To be sure that you have Anthem Blue Cross coverage, refer to your Anthem Member ID card. On the lower right-hand corner, there should be a small black outline in the shape of a suitcase or a small blue suitcase.
A suitcase containing the letters “PPO” inside will let a member know they have a PPO- or EPO-type benefits within or outside of the United States. It also means that the provider will be reimbursed for covered services within the contract in accordance with the local Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) plan. Benefit products that display this type of suitcase include:
- PPO – Preferred Provider Organization Plan
- EPO – Exclusive Provider Organization Plan
A suitcase that contains the “PPOB” logo signifies that the member has a PPO/EPO product from a BCBS plan and the member has access to BlueCard PPO Basic. Benefit products that display this type of suitcase include:
- PPO – Preferred Provider Organization Plan
- EPO – Exclusive Provider Organization Plan
A blank (empty) suitcase logo on the front of a member’s ID card signifies that the member has out-of-area coverage that is not a PPO product. Benefit products that display a blank (empty) suitcase logo on ID cards include:
- HMO – Traditional and Health Maintenance organization
- POS – Point of Service
This blank suitcase logo on a member ID card most often means an individual can seek services out of their normal geographic area in accordance with their specific policy.
Some BCBS ID cards do not have a suitcase logo. These include ID cards for Medicaid and Medicare. AToN Center does not accept Medicaid or Medicare.
What is Anthem Blue Card?
